Favorite Class in Health and Physical Education Major

I know I haven't taken all of the classes in our major yet, but I definitely know which one I had the most fun in. I took Dance Fundamentals last semester, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was little work, but I still feel like I learned a lot. I also enjoyed just dancing and letting off some steam. What was your favorite class so far in this major? I'm interested to know.

Being a Student Athlete at SRU

Being a student-athlete here at SRU or any other school is such a huge commitment. It is rewarding, but it is very time consuming, and I feel like we are always busy trying to balance school and a sport. This week alone has me stressing because I have three practices, two lifting practices, an individual, and a field hockey clinic all this week on top of having to complete and do this E-folio. Plus they increased our field hockey season by three weeks for next year, and I can't even imagine what that is going to be like. Although being a student-athlete is hard work and time consuming, I wouldn't have it any other way because I will have a lot of memories and friends to take away from it.

Best Project in TECH for PETE

What TECH for PETE project do you think is the most beneficial and valuable to yourself as a student and future teacher? I, myself, think all of the projects are extremely useful. However, if I had to choose one or two of the projects, I would choose the interactive powerpoint and the brochure. I had no idea you could do so much with Microsoft Powerpoint, and I feel it is a great asset to use in the Health classroom. For the brochure, I never knew how to make one before, so I thought it was great learning how to properly write and make one. I could definitely see myself sending brochures home to the parents about my classroom and what not. Overall, I think this class is tough, but it definitely prepares you for the future.

Stress and Physical Activity

In my Fitness Education class I had to do a research project on the benefits of physical activity on stress. I found a lot of neat information on this connection. For example, exercise uses the same physiological systems as the stress response, so if you exercise more, you will be capable of handling stress better. Physical activity also helps one deal with stress by improving one's sleep and letting people deal with frustrations better. Physical activity also helps one deal with stress because it releases endorphins, in which, is a natural high. All in all, exercise helps one relieve stress and deal with stress better.
